Old Music…

You know you’re getting old when your taste in music changes. From the loud and the obnoxious to the mellow and the serene, my tastes in music have become more and more tamer. Not that I don’t appreciate or don’t like that kind of music anymore, but I miss listening to it. But then when I do, its strangely not the same.

Like for instance, Metallica. I used to love this band. I have tapes of all the albums completely wasted and run down from repeated listenings. I can sometimes even remember the lyrics and the differences between each of their live performances. But it’s strangely different now. I can’t bring myself to listen to them anymore.

I’m more into mellow music now, the Eric Claptons, the Billy Joels (Thanks KC!) , the Leonard Cohens, Don Henleys, and the rest of them. Basically all of them are old men, crooning of either their days past or their sad lives in general.

I guess I’m becoming one of them now.

  1. I think our music taste evolves , I mean I am listening to more wide variety now days than before but haven’t given up on my previous likings or maybe its from person to person

  2. I think there is evolution, but for some reason in my case I can’t seem to get back into the older stuff, you know?
